A veteran HR practitioner with more than 30 years in key HR positions with local, regional and international organizations in the Arab Region. Earned the Doctorate Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, from City University in USA (2005). In addition, I received certifications as Certified HR Executive, Chartered HR Analyst, and in Management Training Consultant as well as in psychometric tests analysis. Currently, enrolled in post-doctorate degree studies.
As practitioner, my career began in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with Hotel Al-Khozama & Al-Khozama Center managed by GUSTAR HOTELIERS AND RESTAURANTS, Switzerland, followed by a succession of progressive appointments with Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, Accore Novotel Cairo Airport Hotel, Safir Hotels in Egypt, Le Méridien and Jolie Ville Movenpick Hotels and Resorts, Egypt, in which I held the position of Area Director of Human Resources.
After spending 20 years in hotels industry I have shifted to corporate world and joined telecommunication, consultations, training and education, FMCG and heavy industries.
As trainer, numerous of training programs were conducted across Middle East and Gulf States to various organizations.
As educator, I taught Contemporary Management and HRM courses at post-graduate level with Eslsca School of Business, Cairo, Egypt, and the University of Maastrticht, School of Management, Cairo Outreach Program as well as at ‘HIBA’ Higher Institute of Business Administration, Syria, and Business Ethics at under-graduate level in UAE.
As author and writer, several articles were published in various HR magazines in Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, India, Ghana, Zambia and South Africa. My first HR book “Human Resource Management for Practitioners” was published in India in 2014.
As guest speaker, I regularly asked to opine on HR issues and challenges and have had addressed several regional and international HR summits and conferences.
Through my career I have gotten numerous of accolades and recognition for active participation and being doer in the field of HRM from international organizations and professional bodies. Moreover, corporate awards such as Sheraton President’s Award for Performance and Results, and Jolie Ville Movenpick Resort for Initiatives were bestowed. Furthermore, I was nominated in 2006 for Best Arab Manager Award, Mohammed bin Rashid Award for Arab Management, UAE, and in 1998 for Professional Excellence Award, Society for Human Resource Management, USA.
Currently, engaged as HR Advisor to the Chairman at HCCD, one of the business sector organizations in Egypt for restructuring project, and also a partner at Dimensions Consulting in Lebanon.
